Andrews Kitchens — fitted kitchens and joinery
How it works

From a photo on your phone to a fitted kitchen.

No showroom appointments, no sales pressure, no paying for a quote. Here's exactly what happens after you message us.

Start with step one
  1. 01

Send us a photo of your kitchen

    2 minutes

WhatsApp a photo of the room as it is — plus a picture of a kitchen you like, if you have one. A rough run in metres helps, but we'll confirm it ourselves.

  2. 02

    Free measure & 3D design

    Usually within 48 hours

We measure properly, check where the plumbing and plugs actually are, and talk through layout, doors, worktops and handles. You get a 3D visual before anything is cut.

  3. 03

    Fixed written quote

    Same or next day

One price covering carcasses, doors, worktops, splashbacks, ironmongery, delivery, installation and taking the old kitchen away. It doesn't move unless you change the brief.

  4. 04

    Built, then fitted

2–4 weeks, 2–4 days on site

Your kitchen is built in the workshop while you carry on as normal. Only the strip-out and install disrupt the house — usually two to four days — then we walk the finished job with you before the final payment.

Who you're dealing with

The person who measures your kitchen is the person who builds it.

Andrews Kitchens is run by Andrew Mojela, who has been building and fitting kitchens across Johannesburg & Pretoria since 2011. No showroom, no sales floor, no commission — just a workshop and the people who work in it.

That matters more than it sounds. Kitchens go wrong in the handover — a salesperson promises something the workshop can't build, a measurement gets transcribed wrong, and by the time anyone notices the worktop is already cut. Take the handover out and most of that disappears.

Most of our work comes from people whose neighbours or family we've already built a kitchen for. That's the only marketing that has ever really worked in this trade — which is exactly why we won't cut a corner you can't see, least of all inside a carcass.

Straight answers

The questions everybody asks.

Including the ones about money. If yours isn't here, ask on WhatsApp — you'll get a real answer, not a brochure.

Ask a question

How much does a new kitchen cost?

Every kitchen is quoted individually, because no two are the same size, shape or finish — so we don't publish rates. What we can tell you is that the run of cabinetry and the door finish decide most of it. Send a photo on WhatsApp and we'll give you an honest ballpark before we even come out, then a fixed written price after a free measure.

How long will I be without a kitchen?

Usually two to four days. Your kitchen is built in our workshop while you carry on as normal — only the strip-out and the install actually disrupt the house. We'll tell you the exact dates before we start so you can plan around it.

Do you charge for a quote or a design?

No. The on-site measure, the 3D design and the written quote are all free within 40km of Johannesburg. Free on-site measure and quote within 40km. Further afield is welcome — we'll agree a small call-out fee upfront.

Can you work with my existing layout, or does everything move?

Either. Keeping the sink and hob where they are is by far the cheapest route, because nothing needs re-plumbing or re-wiring. If you do want to move things we'll tell you honestly what that adds before you commit to it.

Do you supply the worktops too?

Yes. Granite, quartz, Caesarstone or solid butcher-block, templated off the carcasses once they're fitted so the fit is exact — including the sink and hob cut-outs. It's quoted as part of the kitchen, not bolted on afterwards.

What about the plumbing and electrical work?

We coordinate our trusted plumber and electrician around our dates, but they quote and invoice you directly. That way you're not paying our margin on their labour, and you get their compliance certificate in your own name.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

Yes. A 60% deposit covers the board, worktops and ironmongery, which are bought in for your kitchen specifically. The balance is due on completion, once you've walked the finished job with us and you're happy.

What guarantee do I get?

Every installation carries a 2-year workmanship guarantee. Hinges and runners carry their manufacturer's guarantee on top of that. If a door drops, a joint lifts or a drawer stops running true within that period, we come back and sort it out.

Can you just replace the doors and keep my carcasses?

Often, yes — and it can save you more than half the cost of a new kitchen. It only works if the existing carcasses are square and sound, which we'll check honestly at the measure. If they're swollen or sagging we'll tell you rather than take your money for a refacing that won't last.

Do you only do kitchens?

Kitchens are what we're known for, but the same workshop builds bedroom cupboards, media walls, built-in studies, ceilings, doors and flooring. Bundling them into one job usually costs less than booking two.

Can you work from a photo I found online?

Absolutely, and most customers do. Send the picture on WhatsApp and we'll tell you what it would cost to build in your space, and where a small change in materials would get you most of the look for considerably less.

Which areas do you cover?

We work across Johannesburg & Pretoria, including Sandton, Randburg, Roodepoort, Midrand, Fourways, Bryanston, Northcliff, Soweto and surrounds. If you're further out, ask — we travel for larger jobs.

How long have you been doing this?

15 years, since 2011, working across Johannesburg & Pretoria.
