What we collect

When you send an enquiry, use the price estimator or message us on WhatsApp, we collect your name, contact number, email address (if you give one), the suburb you're in, and whatever you tell us about the job.

If you use the estimator, we also store the options you selected and the range you were shown, so we can pick up the conversation where you left it.

Why we use it

To reply to your enquiry, arrange a measure, prepare and send you a quote, and carry out the work if you go ahead. That's the core of it.

If you ticked the box asking us to keep you posted, we also send a short series of follow-up emails about your project. You can stop those at any time with the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every one — no explanation needed, and it takes effect immediately.

Who we share it with

Nobody, except the service providers that make this website work: Neon (where the enquiry is stored) and Resend (which sends the email). Neither uses your details for their own purposes.

We do not sell, rent or trade your information. If we refer you to one of the trades listed on our partners page, we only pass on your details if you ask us to.

How long we keep it

If your enquiry doesn't go ahead, we delete it — along with any quote — three years after we were last in touch. That covers you coming back for the kitchen you priced and put off.

If we do the work, we keep the job's records, invoices and payments for five years after the last payment, because South African tax law requires us to keep financial records that long. Then they're deleted too.

Both happen automatically; nobody has to remember to do it.

We also keep encrypted backup copies of our records, for 90 days, so a fault or a mistake can't lose your quote or your payment history. When anything is deleted it's gone from our system straight away, and from the backups as they expire. If we ever have to restore one, we delete again anything that was removed after it was made, before we go back online.

Your rights under POPIA

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it entirely. Email us and we'll action it — normally the same week, and always within 30 days.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa if you think we've handled your information badly.

Cookies and visitor statistics

This site uses no advertising cookies and no tracking cookies. The only thing stored in your browser is a login session, and only if you're signing into the admin dashboard — which is us, not you.

We do count visits, using Vercel Web Analytics. It records which pages were opened, which site you arrived from, and roughly what kind of device and country you're on. It sets no cookie, it doesn't follow you to other websites, and it doesn't build a profile of you — visitors are counted using a value that's thrown away daily rather than an identifier that sticks to you. We use it to see which pages are worth keeping, nothing more.

Because none of that identifies you personally, there's no consent banner to click. If we ever add something that does need one, it'll ask.
